Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker is a tactical role-playing game that follows a group of young demon summoners caught in the middle of a mysterious invasion threatening modern-day Japan. After receiving a smartphone application capable of summoning demons, the protagonists become entangled in a desperate fight for survival where every decision can alter character relationships, story developments, and the eventual ending. The narrative blends supernatural conflict with moral choices, giving the adventure a strong emphasis on consequence and player agency.

Gameplay combines grid-based tactical battles with demon recruitment, fusion, and party customization. Players position teams on strategic maps before entering turn-based encounters where exploiting enemy weaknesses grants additional actions and creates opportunities to overwhelm opposing forces. Character progression is driven by expanding a roster of demons, experimenting with fusion combinations, and tailoring each squad to handle increasingly difficult battles.
